Certain passwords and password combinations are almost guaranteed to to get your site hacked.

In addition, poor password security measures can jeopardize the security of other members of the community, by allowing trouble makers and spammers to have access to shared servers. It is your responsibility to have difficult to ascertain passwords associated with your accounts and the scripts that you run.

Never use your username as your passord. Never use the word "password" as a password. In addition, do not use:

  • any type of number combination without a letter,
  • any type of name,
  • any word that can be found in the dictionary.
